<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve shortening of warming-up time in a fixing device where a fixing belt is subjected to induction heating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fixing device is equipped with a guide plate 156 guiding an endless fixing belt 155 in a circulating direction, by coming into contact with the back of the fixing belt 155 on the inside of the circulating path of the fixing belt 155, and a magnetic flux generating part 170, arranged at a position opposed to the guide plate 156, across the fixing belt 155 on the outside of the circulating path and generating magnetic flux. The fixing belt 155 has a heating layer 155c generating heat by the magnetic flux, and the guide plate 156 has a magnetic shunt alloy layer 156a, whose surface is opposed to the fixing belt and which changes from a ferromagnetic state to a non-magnetic state, when its temperature exceeds prescribed temperature; and a low resistance conductive layer 156b, which is provided over both ends in the circulating direction of the back of the magnetic shunt alloy layer 156a and is bent, in a direction of going away from the fixing belt 155, at at least one of both the ends.
