The cam shaft (2) has a vane adjuster (1) including a rotor (6) that is arranged coaxially to the vane adjuster in an axial area of the cam shaft. The rotor is axially deformed by a screw connection and is fixedly arranged opposite to the cam shaft. An axial stop sleeve (13) is connected axial-fixedly with the cam shaft, where the rotor is deformed against the axial stop sleeve. The axial stop sleeve is radially arranged in a neck (52) of a belt wheel (3) of the vane adjuster. A cam shaft bearing (19) is provided between the axial stop sleeve and a support ring (54). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cam shaft.
