For example, a method for protected purchasing of items via a communication network having a server, the method including: receiving at the server a request from a user to purchase an item; based on a profile of the user, determining whether or not the item is approved for purchase by the user; and if the item is approved for purchase by the user, allowing processing of a transaction to purchase the item by the user.
