<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an information processing device that urge a user to change setting in order to perform optimum processing according to content of a job, and to provide control methods therefor. <P>SOLUTION: When an automatic color/monochrome switching mode is set as an image forming mode, the image forming apparatus or the information processing device counts and holds the number of times that jobs in which all the pages are monochrome are continued. When the counted number of times exceeds the predetermined number of times, a mode switching screen for urging the user to change a color mode to a black-and-white mode is displayed on a display part of the image forming apparatus or a display part of the information processing device.
