PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: even a printed matter, which is printed by using transparent toner and is usually expected to have high image quality, causes deterioration of image quality by repeating generation copying. SOLUTION: (1) When an image is read by a scanner, during copying, whether the transparent toner is used for the image is determined (reflectance of light is examined for determination). (2) When the transparent toner is used, image data is kept on a server or an HDD of an apparatus body, and whereabouts information is added on a printed image. Thus, when the image having added-on information is scanned, the image held in the HDD is printed, whereby deterioration caused by the generation copying is suppressed to the minimum (once). Since the capacity of the HDD is limited, data is erased in order of smaller number of accesses to data out of data written before a certain date when image capacity is equal to or above the capacity of the HDD.
