<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of wrinkles on a recording sheet, while the recording sheet passes through a fixing nip between a fixing roller and a fixing belt which are in press-contact with each other. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing belt 92 is brought into press-contact with the surface of the fixing roller 91 by a pressing member 22 so that the fixing belt 92 may revolve according to the fixing roller 91, so that a fixing nip portion through which the recording sheet S passes is formed between the fixing belt 92 and the fixing roller 91. The pressing member 22 is configured so that the area of a contact surface 22c coming into contact with the surface of the fixing roller 91 by the fixing belt 92 may be made smaller in each end portion in the axial direction of the fixing roller 91 than in the central portion in the axial direction.
