PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of well performing a recording on a target based on jetting of a liquid from nozzles forming a nozzle row in each unit head even when relative positional relations for a plurality of the unit heads are changed and a recording method. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus includes a plurality of the unit heads 25 respectively formed so that a nozzle row capable of jetting ink toward a paper 12 extends along a nozzle forming face in the front and back direction, a sub-plate 26 supporting respective unit heads in an arrangement embodiment in which at least two unit heads have positions different from each other in the right and left direction, a heater 16 arranged at a position near the sub-plate 26 and capable of emitting heat toward the paper 12, a temperature detecting sensor capable of detecting the change in a relative positional relation in the right and left direction in respective nozzle rows, and a controlling part for forming a jetting timing of the ink corresponding to the printing content to the paper 12 based on the detecting result of the temperature detecting sensor on every nozzle row of respective unit heads 25.
