<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly recover a discharge defective nozzle without wasting a cleaning liquid or ink. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The droplet discharge device is provided with: a main tank storing a coating liquid; a head part having a plurality of nozzles for discharging the coating liquid as the droplets; a coating liquid feed pipe for feeding the coating liquid in the main tank to the head part, a cleaning liquid tank storing the cleaning liquid connected to the coating liquid feed pipe; and a turbulence generating means between the main tank and the head. In the discharge defective nozzle recovering method carried out by previously filling the coating liquid in the device and after the cleaning liquid is forcibly fed to replace the coating liquid, forcibly feeding the coating liquid again to replace the cleaning liquid and repeating these steps, the turbulent flow is generated in the coating liquid and the cleaning liquid in the pipe between the head part and the main tank and the coating liquid or the cleaning liquid is discharged from the nozzle of the head part.
