Provided is an imaging lens, in which a space holding portion is formed outside of the effective aperture of one or both of junction-type composite lenses facing each other, thereby to hold the space between the cemented doublet lenses. An abutting face formed on the space holding portion is made to contact directly such an abutment surface at the outside of the effective aperture of the other of the opposite junction-type composite lenses as is made of the same material as that of a lens portion and facing the abutment surface of the space holding portion. Alternatively, the abutment surfaces, which are formed on the confronting faces of the space holding portions formed at both the facing cemented doublet lenses, are made to contact each other directly. Thus, the space holding portion is not made extremely thick so that it can be easily shaped and manufactured. Moreover, the space holding portion is made of the same material as that of the lens portion, so that the selecting range of the cutting work conditions can be widened and so that the distortion of the lens shape to be caused by the force applied at the cutting time can be reduced to enhance the performance of the imaging lens.
|
