EXTRACT OF ERIGERON ANNUUS, COMPOSITIONS AND FUNCTIONAL FOOD FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF DIABETIC COMPLICATIONS

PURPOSE: A composition containing Erigeron annuus (L.) Pers. as an active ingredient for preventing and treating diabetes is provided to suppress generation of advanced glycation end products and abnormal activation of aldose reductase. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes complication contains Erigeron annuus (L.) Pers. extract or its fraction of ethylacetate layer or normal buthanol layer. The Erigeron annuus (L.) Pers. extract is obtained from flower, root or stem of the Erigeron annuus (L.) Pers. with alcohol.
