PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to increase the bonding area of sealant, thereby increasing bonding force of the sealant. CONSTITUTION: On the first substrate(101) and the second substrate(102), a display area and a non-display area are defined. On the display area, a plurality of pixels are defined. A pixel electrode(109) is formed at each pixel on the first substrate. The first bond improving protrusions(103) are formed on the non-display area along with the outline of the display area on the first substrate. A common electrode(104) is formed on the display area on at least the second substrate. The second bond improving protrusions(104a) are formed on the non-display area on the second substrate. Conductive sealant(105) is formed between the first and second substrates so that the sealant is bonded with the first and second bond improving protrusions.
