PURPOSE: A robot system for recent diagnosis and a method for controlling a robot of the robot system are provided to reduce a diagnosis time by checking a state of a patient without directly meeting the patient. CONSTITUTION: A robot(100) includes an upper body(101), a lower body(103), a driver, a sensor, a first transmitter, a first controller, and a medical instrument. The driver is arranged in a receiving space of the lower body and moves the robot. The sensor is arranged in the lower body to sense the obstacle around the robot. The first transmitter is arranged in the upper body to control the communication between a doctor and a patient. The first controller is connected to the driver, the sensor, and the first transmitter. The medical instrument is connected to the first controller.
