<p>Purifn. of heavily polluted or evil-smelling effluent, e.g. condensate from drying of fish or animal meal or cattle cake, is by subjecting it to a pretreatment in which impurities are blown out of the hot effluent, the gas carrying the impurities is passed through a condenser to remove entrained water vapour, the impure gas subjected to purification and the partly purified effluent submitted to known purification processes e.g. biological treatment.</p> |
