PURPOSE: A low ignition cigarette paper coated with a coating material and a fire-safe cigarette including the same are provided, which keep the same taste and automatically extinguish when not smoked. CONSTITUTION: A cigarette paper is treated with low ignition propensity coating. The low ignition propensity coating material includes one or more selected from diutan gum, darmar gum, gellan gum, sorbitan monostearate, sorbitan isosterate, propylene glycol stearate, glyceryl stearate, stearyl alcohol, and alpha-tocopheryl acetate. The low ignition propensity coating material is applied on the outside, inside, or both sides of the cigarette paper.
