PURPOSE: A composition containing purmorphamine derivative for promoting osteogenesis is provided to increase the rate of osteogenesis and use as basic therapeutic agent. CONSTITUTION: A purmorphamine derivative which activates the expression of gene for a protein regulating osteogenesis and has a function of promoting osteogenesis is denoted by chemical formula 1. The protein contains Runx2, DLX3, alkaline phsphatase and Gli3. A composition for promoting osteogenesis contains the purmorphamine derivative of chemical formula 1 or its salt as an active ingredient. A therapeutic agent for osteoporosis contains the purmorphamine derivative of chemical formula 1 or its salt as an active ingredient.
