DISPLAY APPARATUS SWITCHABLE BETWEEN TRANSMISSIVE MODE AND REFLECTIVE MODE

PURPOSE: A display apparatus switchable between transmissive mode and reflective mode are provided to selectively use all liquid crystal cells in transmissive mode according to an external light amount or use all liquid crystal cells in reflective mode. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer(10) is formed in the lower part of the first polarizer(5). The liquid crystal layer controls transmittance of an incident light by electric control. A reflective second polarizer(13) is formed in the lower part of the liquid crystal layer. A backlight unit(20) is formed in the lower part of the second polarizer. A light absorption layer(25) is formed in the lower part of the backlight unit. A diffusing plate is formed on the top of the first polarizer. An anti-reflective layer is formed on the top of the diffusing plate.
