A controlled stage of heating is included. The heat absorption per degree, of a coated powder layer, is determined. The determination takes place over at least two temperature ranges. Variation (dQ/dT) of the heat quantity absorbed in each temperature range is determined as a function of temperature. From this, characteristic temperatures of the powder material are derived, e.g. the melting temperature, the glass transition temperature and the onset temperature. The working temperature (TA) to which the powder is pre-heated, is adjusted as a function of the variation determined. TA is adjusted to lie below the characteristic temperature, by a given interval (delta T red). From the heat absorption determined per temperature interval, the source power required for sintering is determined, and/or the preheater (8, 9) power is adjusted. The measurement is carried out separately, on a coated powder layer, before the construction process. An independent claim is included for corresponding equipment. |
