The unit is made as a single piece item using glass fibre reinforced plastic and the raw edges of the open side are protected by a rubber or plastic channel section, stuck using permanent adhesive. A flat bottom flanges, with fixing holes, or a floor may be moulded integral with the body to improve stability. Horizontal holes in the side walls may be added to joining more than one unit together and openings for suction ventilation and/or windows may be included. The shell is lined with sound absorber for telephone box use. Unit is lightweight, robust and cheap.
