PURPOSE: An internet protocol television system, a method for receiving an internet protocol television broadcast, and a method for displaying summary information of a program are provided to display summary information of a program in various types according to a request of a user, thereby easily selecting a channel which broadcasts a desired program. CONSTITUTION: A set top box(100) comprises the following units. A program summary information searcher(104) searches summary information of a program related to a search word in the summary information of the program stored in a program summary information storage. A program summary information manager(105) updates the stored information summary of the program by the newest information.
