PURPOSE: A side mirror system to protect passengers is provided to prevent injuries to the passengers by reverse folding the side mirrors in case of a car rollover. CONSTITUTION: A side mirror system to protect passengers comprises side mirrors(140), a rollover sensor(122), and a control part(124). The side mirrors are reversely folded towards the front of a vehicle using a driving part. The rollover sensor collects roll information such as roll angle and roll angle speed. The control part decides if there is a rollover state by analyzing the roll information from the rollover sensor. The control part transmits an operation signal to the driving part to reverse fold the side mirrors.
