PURPOSE: An infant diagnostic device and a diagnosing method using the same are provided to obtain an objective diagnostic result of an infant respiratory disease by converting the crying of the infant to frequency component data through a diagnostic processor. CONSTITUTION: A microphone(110) outputs analog sound data of the crying of an infant. An analog to digital converter converts the analog sound data to digital sound data. A Fourier transforming unit transforms the plural digital sound data to the plural frequency component data. An average frequency component output unit outputs the average frequency component data. The frequency bandwidth detector detects the frequency bandwidth of the average frequency component data. A diagnostic result output unit outputs the diagnostic result by comparing the previously stored frequency bandwidth with the detected frequency bandwidth. A display unit(130) displays the spectrum and the diagnostic result of the average frequency component data.
