MULTI-TYPE AIR CONDITIONER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An air conditioner with multi chambers and a control method thereof are provided to improve the operation performance and reliability by controlling the amount of refrigerant according to various operation modes. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner with multi chambers comprises a 2a pipe(42a) and a liquid receiver(50). The 2a pipe is located between an outdoor heat exchanger(13) and an outdoor expanding valve(14) of a second pipe. The liquid receiver is installed in the 2a pipe. The 2a pipe comprises a first, second, and third liquid receiving pipes(51~54). The first liquid receiving pipe is branched from the 2a pipe to the outdoor heat exchanger and connected to top of the liquid receiver. The second liquid receiving pipe is branched from the 2a pipe and connected to bottom of the liquid receiver. The third liquid receiving pipe is branched from the 2a pipe and connected to the top of the liquid receiver. An end of third liquid receiving pipe is extended downward from the liquid receiver.
