The injector (1) has an injecting valve element (12) axially adjusted by a control valve (31) operated by an actuator (37). An amount of fuel flows from a high pressure region (6) to a low pressure region (34) of the injector through the opened valve. The low pressure region is provided with an injector return connection (7). Cooling holes (45, 48) arranged hydraulically adjacent to the valve is provided in a housing part (11). The holes are located such that a partial volume of the fuel amount flows through the holes before reaching the connection to output heat energy at the housing part. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine comprising a fuel injector. |
