PURPOSE: A thermal barrier coating on an automobile exhaust manifold is provided to increase heat resistance of an exhaust manifold, engine output and fuel efficiency of vehicle by performing thermal barrier ceramic coating on the inner surface of the exhaust manifold using a wet sol-gel process. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a zirconia sol solution stabilized with yttria comprises the steps of: mixing liquefied zirconium tetrabutoxide(Zr(OCH2CH2CH2CH3)4), acetylacetone(C5H8O2), yttrium acetate(Y(O2CCH3)3), and concentrated nitric acid; and stirring zirconium tetrabutoxide and acetyl acetone to reach a phase equilibrium. |
