An improved wind turbine system can have a generator or set of generators at the base of a tower and one or more sets of propeller hubs at the top of the tower. The sets of propeller hubs can be on opposite sides of the tower to account for the reduction in weight from having the generators at the base of the tower. The wind turbine system can have a conveyor system to move parts of the tower and/or the propeller hubs up and down to thereby reduce the height of the system for installation and maintenance purposes. Transmissions can be coupled to the propeller hubs to adjust the torque load on the turbines depending on the amount of wind. Additional generators can be connected to the propeller hub to increase the torque load.
