摘要 PURPOSE: An image display device, an image display device assembly and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption of a flat optical source device by reducing the brightness of the flat optical source device based on the extension coefficient. CONSTITUTION: An image display panel is comprised of P x Q pixels including a first sub pixel, a second sub pixel, a third sub pixel, and a fourth sub pixel which are arranged in a two dimensional matrix. If the p and q satisfy 1<=p<=P and 1<=q<=Q, a signal processor(20) inputs a first sub pixel input signal of x1-(p,q), a second sub pixel input signal of x2-(p,q), and a third sub pixel input signal of x3-(p,q). The signal processor outputs a first sub pixel output signal, a second sub pixel output signal, a third sub pixel output signal, and a fourth sub pixel output signal. The first sub pixel output signal is an X1-(p,q) and determines the display gradation of the first sub pixel. The second sub pixel output signal is an X2-(p,q) and determines the display gradation of the second sub pixel. The third sub pixel output signal is an X3-(p,q) and determines the display gradation of the third sub pixel. The fourth sub pixel is an X4-(p,q) and determines the display gradation of the fourth sub pixel.
