<p>A vulcanising plate, esp. for rubber or plastics conveyor belts comprises two plane plates, a surrounding frame and stiffening ribs; the frame and the ribs are of extruded box-section, the frame itself constituting a closed circuit while the ribs constitute a continuous spiral rib within the plate. A prefd. arrangement comprises an unheated backing plate, heated front plate and space between in which the continuous spiral rib joins the two plates together and the peripheral frame joins their edges; heating elements run along the back of the heated plate, optionally also inside the peripheral frame; alternatively, the peripheral frame may be used to conduct heating or cooling medium.</p> |
