<p>Title cpds. of formula: (in which R1 and R2 are 1-6 C opt. branched alkyl) are prepd. by reacting precondensates of 1 mole of HCHO with 0.3 - 1.2 moles of aldehydes having a free alpha-methylene gp. of formula R1-CH2CHO, and amines of formula NRRR (in which R is H or up to 2 R gps. may be CH3) or mixts. of these amines, in the liquid phase in water and/or a lower alcohol at 180 - 350 degrees C under raised pressure. They are solvents, (co)catalysts, and also inters. for plant protection agents, dyes and polymers.</p> |
