#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves directly testing before or during disconnecting an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle whether an engine stop is caused by an engine-start-stop device. An engine sound representing an idle time-engine noise and perceivable in a vehicle interior is produced during disconnection of the engine. The engine sound is stopped while newly starting the engine. An idle speed-rotational speed of the engine is displayed by a rotational speed display while the engine is stopped by the engine-start-stop device.
