The lock for a motor vehicle swing door or flap (1) has a rotating spring bolt (3) swung into the closed position by a locking bolt (4) against spring pressure. A spring-loaded locking pawl (5) drops into the locking position in front of a stop (7) at the spring bolt. An adjustable support (9) is held by a spring (10) in the opening direction of the door/flap with a locked spring bolt. The support has a locking surface (11) at or slightly displaced from the locked spring bolt or the counter support at the flap. On a loading of the flap with a given force acting on the spring bolt with the caught locking bolt a movement is prevented relative to the spring bolt in a given adjustment direction.
