The conveyor has two lifting sledges (2, 3) guided to a supporting structure (1) and connected with the supporting structure via a lifting unit and a guide. The lifting sledges exhibit load receiving units (6, 7) with conveyor sections that run in an interleaved manner. Each lifting sledge exhibits positioning devices (8, 9) with which the load receiving units are movable from the conveyor sections of the load receiving units of the lifting sledge. The positioning devices exhibit a swivel joint, and the load receiving units of load transition devices are equipped with chain conveyors. The load receiving units are designed as tooth pairs.
