PURPOSE: A method for controlling a fan according to the position of a device and a device implementing a procedure are provided to turn on a fan from a determined temperature without respect to a position of a device. CONSTITUTION: A device takes horizontal or vertical positions. A position detector decides a position of the device. When it is detected that the device is in a vertical position, a fan control unit(7) suppresses starting of the fan while the device supplies power. When it is detected that the device is in a horizontal position, the fan control unit turns on the fan at minimum speed while the device supplies power.
