Refractory linings renewal - with reduced risk of damage after relighting

The refractory linings are renewed in groups of consecutive ovens, old walls and regenerators for the section being renewed being kept hot (800 degrees C) progressively during the renewal of any one section. Screens of insulating panels hung on rails and/or of loosely piled refractory brick are used for thermal isolation of the section under renovation. Reduced loss of prodn. due to elimination of complete cooling down.
