The method involves cooling and drying an air flowing in an inner area of a motor vehicle by using an air-conditioning compressor during activation of a cooling function, and subsequently heating the air to a predetermined reference-blowing down temperature. The cooling function is activated manually through operation of an operating unit or automatically through an activation of an automatic program. The compressor is active only when a body opening is opened and when the cooling of the air by the compressor is necessary for achieving the predetermined blowing down temperature.
