The device (5) has two gripping jaws (6, 7) that face each other. A receiving opening (8) is defined between the gripping jaws for receiving a container part (2a) i.e. bottle neck. A pressing device (11) presses the container part in the receiving opening at a counter surface. The receiving opening exhibits a tolerance (S) and is dimensioned in a pressing direction (P) in relation to the container part. The pressing device comprises a spring (12) and a pressing piece (13) that is spring tensioned on the counter surface.
