METHOD FOR REDUCING HANDOVER INTERRUPTION TIME IN TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A handover interruption time reduction method of a terminal is provided to perform rapidly a ranging procedure by using a ranging code assigned previously through a target base station. CONSTITUTION: An MS(Mobile Station)(100) receives a message including dedicated ranging codes for at least one candidate BS(Base Station)(400) from a serving BS(S314). The MS transmits a message to the serving BS(S315). The message includes a report for determining the candidate BS for allocating the particularly dedicated ranging code of the dedicated ranging codes, as a target BS. The MS transmits the particularly dedicated ranging code to the target BS in the ranging procedure with the target BS(S319). The MS transmits a handover request message to the serving BS.
