The generator (1) has a housing (2) with an end, and discharge openings (4, 5) provided at the end of the housing. A propellant gas discharges through the discharge opening after an ignition of the generators. A cap-shaped element (9) functions as a diffuser during a release of the generator and is drawn reverse over the end of the housing. Pin-shaped housing extensions (3, 6) are drawn reverse from a front side of the end of the housing. The cap-shaped element is drawn reverse from the pin-shaped housing extensions and is connected with the pin-shaped housing extensions.
