The invention relates to a closure apparatus for a drinking container with an inner space for the reception of a drinking liquid and a container opening which is preferably arranged on the upper side and in which the closure apparatus is provided with at least one receiving chamber (3), the content of which is introducible into the inner space of the drinking container. The invention is characterized in that, at least in the upper region the closure apparatus comprises a rigid upper closure element (1), which, with a lower axially slidably displaceable cover element (2), forms a receiving chamber (3), which comprises an introduction opening (18) at least in the lower region. The content of the receiving chamber (3) is releasable into the inner space of the drinking container through the introduction opening (18) by an axial sliding process.
