<p>The procedure for anaerobic treatment of wastewater and sludge in a putrefying reactor, comprises batch-wise discharging of a part of the digesting sludge from the putrefying reactor, enriching the discharged part of the digesting sludge in a digested sludge enrichment reactor (2), feeding back of the enriched sludge into the putrefying reactor. The discharge and feedback of the digesting sludge takes place by adjustment of the pressure prevailing over a gas present above the sludge and above this sedimenting hydraulic portion.
