The present invention relates to the use of selective inhibitors of coagulation factor Xa, in particular of oxazolidinones of the formula (I), for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and/or disorders related to asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as thromboembolic events (including e.g. pulmonary embolism (PE), arterial and venous thrombosis, myocardial infarction, stroke) as well as their use for the preparation of pharmaceutical drugs for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and/or disorders related to asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease such as thromboembolic events.
