The present invention relates to an intra prediction method and apparatus and an image encoding/decoding method and apparatus using the same. The invention provides the intra prediction apparatus that predicts the pixel value for each pixel in a current block by weight-averaging the pixel value for at least one adjacent pixel included in the neighbor block according to the distance between each pixel of the current block and at least one adjacent pixel. According to the invention, the current block to be encoded can be predicted more accurately so that the encoding efficiency may be improved by reducing the difference between the actual block and the predicted block. Therefore, compression efficiency can be improved through the improvement of encoding efficiency.
