GENETICALLY MODIFIED PLANT CAPABLE OF BIOSYNTHESIZING CAPSINOID
摘要

Disclosed are: a genetically modified plant capable of biosynthesizing a capsinoid in an increased quantity; a method for producing the genetically modified plant; and a method for producing a capsinoid by using the genetically modified plant. More specifically disclosed are: a genetically modified plant capable of producing a capsinoid, which is characterized by being reduced in the expression of an enzyme capable of catalyzing the transamination reaction from vanillin into vanillylamine or the activity of the enzyme compared to a wild-type plant thereof; and others. The technique for inhibiting the expression or activity of the enzyme includes: the introduction of antisense RNA, iRNA or a ribozyme for a target gene or DNA encoding a dominant-negative mutant of the target gene; the disruption of the gene by a knock-out technique or by treating the gene with a mutagen; the introduction of a gene encoding an antibody directed against the enzyme; and others.
