DEVICE AND METHOD OF MONITORING SLIDING CONDITIONS OF PISTON RING

A device and a method for monitoring sliding conditions of a piston ring detect the cycle of rotation of the piston ring based on the temperature of a specific portion of a cylinder liner and determine a sign of seizure of a piston based on conditions of the rotation.  A sign of seizure of the piston can be detected by the device less expensive than devices of prior art which detect a capacitance.
