A method for active/standby switchover control includes: respectively outputting indication signals indicative of a frame alignment position of active service data and standby service data of a same service according to a predetermined output manner of the indication signals; then respectively buffering active service data frames, standby service data frames and the corresponding indication signals, and reporting information of the alignment position when buffers the active service data and the standby service data at the alignment position indicated by the indication signals; finally switching the active service data and the standby service data according to the alignment position of the active service data and the standby service data indicated by the indication signals. A corresponding apparatus is also disclosed.
