In reproduction of a recording medium on which a digital stream and an application program are recorded, the results of execution of the application program are relayed between a plurality of items of equipment. Data that can be input by other reproduction apparatuses is generated by providing a Java application data writing section (604) that outputs to outside the apparatus the data recorded in ADA602, which is the access enabling region of a Java application specified by an identifier possessed by a BD-ROM. Also, by providing a Java application data reading section (605) whereby information usable during execution of the application is read from a data exporting medium (606) constituted by removable media and recorded onto ADA602, handover of information from other reproduction apparatuses becomes possible and continuation of reproduction can thereby be achieved.
