PURPOSE: An automatic system for painting an external surface of a train is provided to improve work environment while performing painting operation automatically, and to improve coating efficiency while minimizing the consumption of paints. CONSTITUTION: An automatic system for painting an external surface of a train includes a top-bottom painting part(100), a side painting part(200), a front-back painting part(300), and a painting inspection part(400). The top-bottom painting part includes a top-bottom painting unit(10) applying the upper surface and the top surface of the train with paints. The side painting part includes a side painting unit(20) painting either side of the train at the same time. The front-back painting part includes a front-back painting unit(30) painting the front and the rear sides of the train. The painting inspection part includes a painting inspection unit(40), and check the surface of the vehicle which is painted.
