Sealed package - consisting of two laminated films sealed peripherally and having tearable joint

Sealed package contg. a pdt. such as sausage has first and second laminated films facing each other with flat peripheral facing sealing zones surrounding completely and continuously the part enclosing the pdt. The sealing zones have first facing parts in which the laminates are united hermetically in a permanent manner, these first parts terminating at the place of a junction line crossing the sealing zone at each end of the first parts, and second facing parts comprising the total remaining part of the sealing zones other than the first parts. An adhesive strip forming a tearable joint unites the laminates in the second parts, and at least one of the laminates is flexible and can be adapted to the facing laminate in the sealing zone. The sealed package can be opened easily to remove a part of the contents and then resealed without modifying the position of the rest of the contents. The packages can be produced continuously at high speed from laminated films.
