Foodstuffs, e.g. sausage meat, contg. as a red colouring agent 8-acetamido-2-(azo-benzene-4-sulphonic acid)-1-naphthol-3,6-disulphonic acid or its edible salts in amounts of 1-50, pref. 5-12 ppm. The dye is stable in the presence of sulphite preservatives. |
