Two-way tiltable steel works tundish - with asymmetrical tilting axis

Refractory lined tundish with an depression in the feed melt impact zone and with opposite side positioned tapping lips is tilted round an axis, which in respect to its transverse axis of symmetry is displaced towards one of the tapping lips, so as to permit sufficient tilting over one lip to ensure its being completely emptied. The tundish is placed as near as possible to the tapping lip of its feed furnace. The tundish is for use in steel works and is used for pouring of pig iron and slag into moulds, and reduces metal wastage and permits better process control by avoiding of mixing of subsequent melts.
