Long-tapered tubes prodn using short mandrel

摘要

Tapering of tube by drawing through a die over a tapered mandrel, the die being deformable and the mandrel being moved relative to the tube at a slower speed than the drawing speed such that the tube tapers to a different length than that of the mandrel. The mandrel possesses the desired maximum and minimum diameters for the finished tube inside diameter but may be short relative to the length of taper required in the tube.
